PARIS, Ky. (WKYT) - We're tracking the investigation into an infant's death in Bourbon County.

Paris police confirm they are working the death investigation.

The coroner's office tells us a two-week old boy died Tuesday at the hospital, but there's no word yet on the cause of death. The baby's parents are in jail, however, they are not charged in his death.

An autopsy is being done in Frankfort on the boy. Police aren't sure how he died.

Paris police say they were called to the home on Walker Street Tuesday morning by the baby's father, Jeff Caskey, who told officers his two week old son, Kyle, was unresponsive.

The baby was rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

After a short investigation, police say they arrested Caskey on outstanding warrants in both Montgomery and Fayette counties. Police say the baby's mother, Chelcie Hinson, had left Kyle with her boyfriend, Caskey, so she could turn herself in to jail in Fayette County on outstanding warrants.

Police do tell us Caskey was distraught at the hospital, and Hinson was inconsolable when she found out the baby had died.
