Perry County inmate's death ruled a homicide

HAZARD, Ky. (WKYT) - The Office of the Associate Chief Medical Examiner has released the final autopsy results for a man who died after an altercation at the Kentucky River Regional Jail.

The findings confirm that Larry Trent, a former inmate, died due to injuries sustained in an assault at the jail.

The report also stated that signs of chronic alcohol abuse contributed to but did not result in Trent's death.

The report listed homicide as the manner of death.
