LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police say they believe slick roads are to blame for an early morning accident between a car and a snow plow in Lexington.
It happened around 3:30am Saturday on the outer loop of New Circle is closed at Jingle Bell.
The outer loop of New Circle Road was closed at Family Circle for several hours while crews worked to clean up a diesel spill from the accident.
Police say two people in the car were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The vehicles were cleared from the scene but police had to keep the road closed while they dealt with the diesel spill. Police also had to deal with a number of drivers trying to drive through the spill.
According to police they arrested two people while attempting the cleanup, both were charged with Driving Under the Influence.
Police are warning drivers that while the roads seem clear to there may still be slick spots. They also ask that drivers be usre to give snow plows and other slow moving vehicles plenty of room.
