ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Police say a man fired shots at them from a home during a standoff in Anderson County Monday night.
Police say they were originally called to the home, on Mays Road west of Lawrenceburg, for a harassment complaint.
When police arrived, they say the suspect started firing shots at officers. At that point, police moved back to take cover, and established a perimeter.
Police say after unsuccessful negotiations, the suspect tried to leave his home in his vehicle, and even hit an Anderson County sheriff's cruiser in the process.
Police say they then arrested the suspect. His name has not been released, but police say charges are pending against him.
One woman and her husband live across the street. They say they left their home moments after the standoff started.
"It sounded like he was shooting an AR 15, or a machine gun of some sort," Stephanie Turner said. "When we left the house, we couldn't see where he was shooting so I'm glad we left."
No injuries were reported as a result of the standoff.
