Police say man was shot after getting in the middle of an argument

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man is in the hospital after police say he told them he was shot five times when he got into the middle of an argument.

Lexington police responded to a call of shots fired on Ohio and 5th Street just after 3 a.m. Saturday morning. When they arrived on the scene police were unable to locate a victim.

Shortly after responding to the call a man at the Speedway gas station on 7th Street and Broadway flagged down an officer and told him he had just been shot.

The man told officers that he had got in the middle of two men who were having an argument.

Emergency crews took the man to the hospital with gunshot wounds to his stomach and thighs. Officials say they do not believe the wounds to be life-threatening.
