Police searching for man who robbed Captain D's

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington police are searching for a man who robbed a Captain D's Saturday morning. They say he approached an employee in the back parking lot of the Captain D's off West New Circle Road, implied he had a weapon, and took off with the business's cash.

"Employee had gone out the back door to take out trash and was confronted by the suspect who then forced him back inside the store, implied a weapon, and took some money that we won't disclose at this point," explained Lexington Police Lieutenant Raymond Roller. Lt. Roller says the employee never saw a gun, but had enough reason to suspect the robber was carrying some sort of weapon.

"He had his hand in his pocket, and also threw verbal statements," he said, "just shook up the one employee that was present, but he's fine now."

The Captain D's does have surveillance cameras outside, and right now Lexington police are reviewing video to see if any of those cameras caught the robbery.

"We searched the immediate area after the call. There was a slight delay in the time we got here, and we tried to canvas the neighborhood to see if we could locate any suspects."

The description police have of the robber is a man around 6'0" wearing all black clothing, black gloves, and a black mask.
