Power restored before hundreds wake up without it

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) Kentucky Utilities says most of the 700 customers who lost power on Wednesday morning won't even notice it, apart from perhaps a flashing clock on their microwave. They had power restored by 6:30 AM.

The company says they're not sure what happened to leave those hundreds of customers on Lexington's southwest side in the dark.

Several traffic lights in the area off Clays Mill Road between Southland Drive and Pasadena also went dark, but were back on and functioning by the time most people began their drives to work and school.

The power came back on sooner than KU's estimate of an 8:30 restoration.

They say they're still investigating the source of the outage.
