A Russell County girl had to be flown to UK Hospital after deputies say she fell 50 feet into the brush of a shoreline at Lake Cumberland on Monday afternoon.

Deputies tell WKYT it happened just before 3 p.m. Central Time in Jamestown, off Rosin Ridge Road, in the Bernard Ridge community.

They tell us the 12-year-old girl fell over a bluff 50 feet high, while playing with some other juveniles.

We're told the girl was taken by Fish & Wildlife by boat to Jamestown Marina, then flown to UK Hospital.

The extent of her injuries are unknown. We are told she was alert and oriented when being transported to the helicopter.
