Second arrest made in connection with 2010 murder case

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - A Scott County woman has been arrested in Florida in connection with the 2010 murder of a Scott County woman.

The Georgetown News Graphic reports that 28-year-old Ciji Jefferson was arrested just outside of Orlando on the same day Kentucky State Police charged 30-year-old Nicholas Willinger with murder.

Law enforcement officials have been tight-lipped about the latest arrest but Jefferson is being held on a fugitive warrant.

According to his arrest citation Willinger told police he went into the home of Sue Jones in 2010 to steal money, after learning the retired bus driver had kept a large amount of cash. He told police that he was under the impression that Jones would not be home at the time, but when she was there, they say he beat the 68-year-old woman to death.

It is not clear at this time what role investigators believe Jefferson may have played in the crime.

There is also no word on when she will be extradited back to Kentucky.
