Several fires, arrests and injuries following UK loss

There were 19 couch fires, 23 injuries, and 31 arrests in Lexington following UK

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - On Tuesday morning, Lexington city officials released information about what happened during street celebrations, following UK's loss to Connecticut on Monday night.

The Division of Fire and Emergency Services reports there were 19 couch fires and several small trash fires Monday night and into Tuesday morning.

Mayor Jim Gray's office says there were 23 injuries, mostly minor.

The Division of Police reports 31 arrests.

Most of these incidents occurred in the State Street area. The crowd on State Street was much smaller Monday night than following other games during the NCAA tournament.
