Shelter says they're helping several dogs hit by cars

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A local pet rescue organization says they're helping a lot of dogs that have been hit by cars recently.

Homeward Bound is caring for three dogs with serious injuries. Rescuers are looking for foster families for the dogs, along with help paying their medical expenses.

"That's something that's been going on right now. They're coming into the shelters as strays, but the thing is they're coming with a lot of broken limbs," explained Anita Spreitzer with Homeward Bound.

The organization held in adoption fair at PetSmart in Lexington Saturday.
