Rounds of showers and thunderstorms will increase as we head into the middle of the week. This is a setup that can put down a lot of water across parts of the state through the upcoming weekend.
A cold front will stall out across the region and this will allow for showers and storms to move over the same areas. I expect much of our region to pick up 1"-3" of rain between now and Sunday. That could lead to local high water issues.
We also have the risk of a few strong storms during this time. The Storm Prediction Center has parts of central and northern Kentucky in the severe weather risk area for Wednesday afternoon and evening.
