Some snow, few problems in Boyle County

DANVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - Very light snow showers started about 6 p.m. Tuesday, but caused few problems for drivers.

Danville like many towns is already decked out, and decorated for Christmas, and Tuesday's snow is just one more example that November is looking more like December.

Preparations for the snow event began early Tuesday at the Boyle County Road Department.

"We have six trucks and each one holds about nine tons of salt,” said Cody Lister with the Boyle County Road Department.

State crews take care of the main roads, leaving more than 100 miles of county roads to cover.

"Roughly about 250 tons of salt in the salt shed,” said Lister.

Snow is expected to stick around until Wednesday, and that means a long night for workers who have already put in a long day.

"Probably stay up all night long plowing and salting, and into the morning hours,” said Lister.
