Stranger gives kidney to Kentucky soldier

An injured Lexington soldier has a new kidney thanks to a stranger.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) -- An injured Lexington soldier has a new kidney thanks to a stranger.

Terry Roberts, a teacher at Presentation Academy in Louisville, gave a kidney to Daniel Ruckel.

The E-4 specialist suffered a brain injury in an explosion in Afghanistan.

The medicine used to help heal his brain caused kidney failure.

Roberts saw his story on the news and knew immediately she wanted to help.

It's been months since the surgery.

Roberts say she still hasn't met or talked to Ruckel, but his family did send her a photo album to thank her for the what she did.
