A wild weather weekend is beginning across the bluegrass state. The gusty showers of this evening will grow into thunderstorms for Saturday and Saturday night. Some of these storms could be strong or severe.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of the region in a slight risk for severe storms during this time. Damaging wind will be the main player for any storm that blows up. Heavy rain is also likely and that could create some local high water issues.
Winds will be very gusty through the weekend and may top 40mph at times. Temps on Saturday will be well into the 60s and may hit 70 before all is said and done.
Much colder air shoots back in late Sunday and we could see some snow showers or flurries by Monday. Next week will feature cold conditions with a few light snow chances.
