PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - With music videos playing on CMT and two shows at the Grand Ole Opry under their belts, it is safe to say country music duo Sundy Best's career is taking off. Saturday night they played in their hometown of Prestonsburg to a sold out crowd at the Mountain Arts Center.

For the first time as Sundy Best, Kris Bentley and Nick Jamerson are playing a show in their hometown.

Jamerson says, "It is a true homecoming, finally." Bentley adds, "It is special because when I was a kid I would run around backstage here in the dressing rooms because my dad was in the Kentucky Opry."

A stage the group says they've dreamed of playing because of their respect for local talent that built the Kentucky Opry and Mountain Arts Center.

Jamerson says, "To be playing on the big stage here in our hometown is a dream come true...it is right up there with the Grand Ole Opry and all the other places we've marked off the bucket list."

Bringing their music back home to the place and people that inspire them. "This is what we've been singing about for the last two to three years," says Jamerson.

"I just hope I can keep it together because it is real. You look out at these people...that is the reason we are at this point in our career, this community," explains Jamerson.

They say it is a place that has always supported them, "They've been carrying that Sundy Best flag for us...before it was cool and it still might not be cool, but it is cool to them!"

With that passion and devotion from home, Jamerson and Bentley say the sky is the limit. "The reason we've been able to grow and develop is because of the support from this area," explains Bentley.

The group just wrapped up filming a new music video that will be out in the next week or two. The release date for their new album, Bring Up The Sun, is set for March 4th. The album is available for pre-order on iTunes.
