Updated: I-75 reopens after crane crashes in Laurel County

Interstate 75 is back open in Laurel County after a crane crashed closing the highway for hours.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Interstate 75 is back open in Laurel County after a crane crashed closing the highway for hours.

The crash happened just before 5:00 a.m. Thursday near mile marker 48 in the southbound lanes.

The driver told us he was on his way to Virginia, when he lost control and crashed into an embankment.

Kentucky State Police shut down the road for more than six hours while crews cleared the crash scene.

A detour was setup for drivers, but the crashed backed up traffic for miles.

No injuries were reported in the accident.
