Testimony is continuing Wednesday in the murder trial of a man accused of killing a Lexington doctor.

Marty Roe is charged in the shooting death of Dr. Martha Post outside her dermatology practice in 2011.

Wednesday morning, Post's daughter and husband took the stand, as well as police. Posts husband says he had feared something would happen to his wife for a long time.

Police said they recovered several voicemails from Dr. Posts computer they say were left by Roe. The messages were professions of love, urges for Dr. Post to pick up the phone, and mentions of needing a check number for some money. The Commonwealth called up Erik Truitt, as well as Dr. Post's daughter. Their daughter said her mother had played those messages for her and she said her family had been afraid.

"To think someone wanted to shoot her or had done that on purpose was so difficult. Then I was thinking after a minute to get over that shock, I thought of Marty Roe and I thought of the interactions that I had with him and I knew my mom had with him," said Erin Truitt, Post's daughter, in court.

Tuesday, the defense told the jury to follow the money, saying Dr. Posts husband, Dr. Pruitt, would have more to gain from his wife's death than Marty Roe. Wednesday, the prosecutor asked Dr. Pruitt if he has anything at all to do with his wife's death. He said he most certainly did not.

Roe is charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence, and harassing communications.
