Trees, powerlines down during Saturday storms in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - And Lightning caused havoc all over Lexington Saturday morning as it took out poles and trees throughout town.

For several hours Fire crews were out working incidents ranging from water rescues to downed power lines to lightning striking homes.

Clay Avenue seemed to take the brunt of damage during the morning storm as trees were split in half by lightning strikes and power lines and poles came down on top of cars.

Crews will be out most of the day working to clear the debris and roadway.
