Two identified in deadly Lewis County fire

LEWIS COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A mother and son, killed in a Lewis County fire, have been identified.

It happened on Christmas Day around 11 a.m. Montgomery Road in Garrison.

The coroner tells us Marilyn Fannin, 84, and her son, Daniel Fannin, 65, were both killed.

According to the sheriff, when firefighters arrived at the scene, heavy smoke and flames were seen shooting from the home. When they searched inside, crews found Marilyn Fannin. She was taken to Southern Ohio Medical Center, where she died.

They say Daniel Fannin was also find inside the home, and died at the scene.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, but remains under investigation.
