Two men wounded in early morning shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) Police are investigating an early-morning shooting that wounded two men on a Lexington street.

Police tell WKYT's Sean Evans that two men, one of whom was in his 20s, were shot around 5 this morning. One man was shot in the abdomen; police did not say where the other man was shot. One was taken to UK Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital by people who knew him.

The area in the 150 block of Glenn Place has been cordoned off by police for their investigation. They tell us they're speaking to neighbors and searching for evidence.

Jeremy Moberly heard the shots outside his home. When he walked outside to investigate, he found one of the victims.

"Went in, got a blanket, come back out and tried to get it under him because he was freezing. He said he'd been shot in the leg and lower back area. Tried to help him out until the cops arrived on scene and got the ambulance to him," Moberly said.

Police say it's not clear if the men live on Glenn Place or if they happened to be in the area.

Investigators say they're waiting to talk to the victims to see if the men had been shooting at each other, or if they were shot by a third person.
