LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A couple of college students claim a group of people tried to break into their house early Friday morning.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. on State Street. The students say a group of people started banging on their front door and broke a window.

A short time later they saw a shirtless and shoe-less man walking down the street. Some of the residents tackled him and held him down until police got there.

That man claims he was with a group of people, but didn't break a window. The students who live there claim they saw five people try to break in, but they were only able to catch up with one.

"We saw him in the bushes trying to hide but he couldn't hide. He was big. So we just saw him and told him to come out. We were all standing surrounding him so he knew he couldn't go anywhere. We told him we were going to call the cops on him," says Kole Porter, a resident at the home.

So far no one has been charged with any attempted break in. But police did arrest the man who the students tackled for alcohol intoxication.
