LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - One person has been transported to UK Hospital with what officials are calling life-threatening injuries after a single vehicle accident on I-75.
Lexington Police were called to the scene just after 8am Saturday morning for a report of an overturned vehicle.
When they arrived on the scene, police found a man had been partially ejected from the vehicle. Firefighters were able to extricate the man from the vehicle and he was transported to UK Hospital with what officials are calling life-threatening injuries.
Police say the man appeared to have been entering the westbound I-64 ramp when he lost control of his vehicle and overturned several times.
Police say speed may have been a factor in the accident.
The I-64W ramp at the I-75S split is currently closed while crews continue to clear the scene. Police are having all southbound I-75 traffic continue south at this time.
