Woman dead after fire at Bullitt County hotel

SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - A woman is dead after a fire at a Shepherdsville hotel.

According to WLKY in Louisville the fire broke out around 8:20a.m. Sunday at the Days Inn on South Lakeview Drive.

The Shepherdsville Fire Department chief told WLKY that guests staying at another room in the hotel smelled smoke coming from another room and called 911.

When crews arrived on the scene they found a woman unresponsive inside the room. She was taken to Jewish Medical Center South where The Deputy Coroner tells us she was pronounced dead.

The woman's identity has not yet been released pending notification to her next of kin.

The coroner tells us the situation remains under investigation by Bullitt County police and the cause of death has not yet been determined.
