BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - The Garrard County sheriff's daughter died in a Boyle County car crash Saturday, according to the sheriff’s office.
"We all hate to see him hurting. He should never have to go through anything like this. We worry about him because he is so strong and this is a real tough thing on him," said deputy sheriff Tim Davis.
Danville police say 37-year-old Bobbie Nicole Wardrip of Nicholasville died about 2 p.m. Saturday on Old Shakertown Road.
Police tell us a witness saw Wardrip traveling south in an Oldsmobile when she swerved and hit a telephone pole.
Investigators say they're still trying to figure out what caused the crash.
"Ronnie is just the pillar of the sheriff's office, he's just so good to us," said Davis.
So in turn, they're trying to be good to Ronald Wardrip. We’re told all his deputies have stopped by to visit him.
Davis says the deputies also plan to pick up extra shifts this week, so Wardrip can take time off to be with family.
Davis tells us seven deputies work under Wardrip. He says they consider each other family, so just like family they will stand by the man who they say has stood by their community.
"We want to be there for him and do everything we can to make it easy for him because he has been so good to all of us," he said.
Funeral arrangements have been set for Wardrip. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Ramsey Funeral Home in Lancaster. The funeral will be Tuesday at 8:00 p.m.
