LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Friends of the Dog Park, Inc., along with the Division of Lexington Parks and Recreation invite Lexington area residents to this year’s “Dog Paddle.” Held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 6 at the Woodland Aquatic Center, this event will allow patrons to bring their dogs for a dip in the pool.

Guaranteed to put a smile on anyone’s face, dogs of all shapes and sizes will be allowed to play in the wading pool and swim with the pirate ship. Humans may only watch and are not allowed to swim.

Admission is $10 per dog with a limit of two people and $5 per person after the limit. Children under 10 are admitted free with a paying adult.

A 2013 or 2014 rabies tag or proof of vaccinations is required for dogs to be admitted.

All proceeds benefit additions and amenities at dog parks in Fayette County. There are four dog parks in Lexington. They are located at Jacobson, Masterson Station, Wellington and Coldstream parks.

Concessions and vendors will be available through out the day. The event will take place rain or shine.
