Worker hurt in Lexington scaffolding collapse

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man fell nearly three stories down when scaffolding at a construction site collapsed Monday.

The accident happened around 8:30 Monday morning outside a building under construction, near Hobby Lobby in Hamburg.

We're told two men were on the scaffolding when it gave way. They fell two-and-a-half to three stories down. A pile of cinder blocks also fell.

Emergency crews with Lexington Fire rushed one man to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

"Saw a guy laying on the ground over there, and didn't notice until 15 minutes later that the bridge had fallen and I guess he was on it, or he was around it," noted Hobby Lobby employee, Carissa Andrews. Andrews walked outside the store to see what happened Monday morning.
