FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Gov. Steve Beshear has appointed a
campaign donor convicted in 1990 of misdemeanor attempted jury tampering to two state boards including one for Kentucky crime victims.
Beshear appointed James F. Sullivan to the Crime Victims Compensation Board and the Board of Claims. The appointments took
effect on July 1. He also sits on the Kentucky Lottery Board.
Beshear spokesman Dick Brown says the governor was not aware of Sullivan's misdemeanor conviction. Sullivan and his wife each
donated $2,000 to Beshear's gubernatorial campaign.
Members of the Crime Victims Compensation Board are paid $1,500
a month.

The reason why things like this keep happening, perhaps, is that whatever the power that people have, they use forums like this to make un-cogent and inconcise high-school-level insults at whoever is in power. Like the first guy said, you can buy your way INTO GOVERNMENT. I did not like Fletcher nor do I like this guy -- they're both dishonest and make whatever claims to being Christian's look a mockery to Christianity. The pushing of gambling vice, financial dishonesty, and flagrant abuse of tax funds is no stranger to either the democrats or republicans. If you have yet to notice, the rich people are running things...they just split apart for melodramatic acting that riles real people like you all and myself. If you really want to starve the government, go live like the mennonites. Simplify your life and simply stop participating in this sham form of society.

Wow, with all that's at his disposal as Governor, I'm quite shocked. If someone calls his office and sounds funny, KSP would do a full background check on them. One phone call to the AOC would've revealed this guy's misdemeanor before his appointment but they didn't even bother to do it. As a lifelong Libertarian, who's voted for candidates of all the major parties at some time, I have to say that this is further proof of what I've been saying...it's time to take a really hard look at the people we're putting in office, and clean house. If we vote against ALL incumbents in the next 4 years in every election, then there would be a house-cleaning and things WOULD change. When these people keep doing the same things, and you keep electing them, you are telling them it's ok to do these things. If you vote them all out, I think the new ones would get the message, and if not, then they would only serve one term. That's how our nation was supposed to work, but somehow we messed that up.

No suprise here i told you guys so he better hire him because he is a 4 year gov we got rid of the best governor we ever had and look how the country has went down hill since these kook liberals has won the senate and house since 06 the dow below 11000 and they do not care as long as they win what a joke.

Soo What!!!! It was 18 years ago and it was a misdmeanor, if he has had no charges since 1990, why would we still hold that against him, he made a mistake. Obviously he learned his lesson, cause he has had no charges since then. It should be wiped of of his record by now. Good Grief, have a heart people. Do you ever make mistakes????? Do you want it to be hled against you the rest of your life???? He paid for it then, leave him alone now.

what happened to doing a back ground check??? most places do that now before hiring someone with a criminal background. how can we trust these people in office when they hire just about anyone off the street apparently!!! They are all crooks !!!

First off, I didn't particularly care for Fletcher, but this just goes to show these people who love Beshear that playing politics (no matter the party) is the norm in Frankfort and other places. It just goes to show that YOU CAN buy your way into a job with state government. I still don't get it; why isn't there a laws that says you CAN'T give jobs to people who donate heavily to your campaign.
