VIRGIE, Ky. (AP) - Gov. Steve Beshear is beginning a series of town hall meetings in an initiative that he describes as a listening tour across Kentucky.
The tour starts Thursday in the tiny community of Virgie in the
coalfields of eastern Kentucky. Beshear said he is especially interested in hearing suggestions on how state government can continue to provide services amid tight budget constraints.
The state faces a $900 million revenue shortfall over the next two years.
Critics contend Beshear has scheduled the meetings in hopes of
improving his image after failing to get his top initiatives through the General Assembly earlier this year.

I would like very much to know when the governor will come to either London, Corbin,Mckee,or any other nearby town. there are a lot of people here who would like to ask him some real serious questions.

Governor Beshear should cut funding for physical education class and fund actual EDUCATION - science, math, social studies and computers!

Lets all remember that gas was $1.47 when Bush was elected, sure makes it hard for our governor to afford to travel now.

Maybe he and his sidekick Daniel will somehow come to relize that education funding is more important than 4 wheeler mudholes.

Maybe they could drive and cut down some spending instead of 3, count it 1, 2, 3 airplanes to come to Pikeville. Maybe Central Rock & Mineral paid for it since one was there airplane.
