Football Cats try to continue non-conference dominance

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - While Kentucky coach Joker Phillips says
his team has the potential to have a "great" season, ke knows the
Wildcats can't afford any slip-ups before heading into Southeastern
Conference play.
There haven't been any the last four years.
Kentucky has won 16 straight regular season nonconference games.
The Wildcats will try to make it 17 in-a-row Saturday against
Western Kentucky (0-1).
Kentucky's nonconference success has played a major factor in
the program's ability to reach four straight bowl games, though the
schedule isn't exactly daunting.
Louisville is the only nonconference opponent from a major
conference the Wildcats have played in the regular season since the
streak began. Phillips said he doesn't expect that to change
anytime soon.
