Wildcat Guard Suffers Concussion In Practice

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky basketball sophomore Michael Porter suffered a concussion Monday during workouts. A sports publicist reported the injury yesterday, and added that Porter hopes to be ready to return to practice a week from tomorrow.

Porter joins three other Wildcats on the injury list. Senior Joe Crawford underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in late September. Junior Jared Carter required surgery in early June after reinjuring his right shoulder and sophomore Derrick Jasper underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee in June. All three have been limited in their conditioning work, but are expected to be cleared in time for the start of practice.

Kentucky begins full-squad practice for the 2007-2008 season on the 12th with "Big Blue Madness," which is scheduled to begin at nine p.m. at Rupp Arena.
