Little out at least 2 more weeks

UK coach Rich Brooks today announced running back Rafael Little was out indefinitely and would miss at least the next two games due to a thigh bruise suffered in the Cat's loss at South Carolina.

Brooks said calcium had formed on the thigh bruise. Little has missed much of practice the last couple of weeks and sat out the Wildcats triple-overtime win over LSU.

Brooks is hopeful the senior back can return for UK's Nov. 10 game at Vanderbilt.

"It's heartbreaking," Brooks said at his Monday media gathering.

Tony Dixon will start in place of the injured Little, Brooks said. The coach also said he will give more carries to sophomore Alfonso Smith and freshman Derrick Locke, to prevent Dixon from wearing down.
