LCA quarterback Lucas Witt threw for 214 yards and four touchdowns as the Eagles beat Nicholas County in the playoff opener, 62 - 19.
Witt was on target early with a 63 yard scoring pass to Brandon Burdette on the Eagles first play from scrimmage. Witt and Burndette then hooked up again with a 44-yard touchdown pass less than three minutes later as LCA took a quick 14-point lead. Witt passed for his third score of the period with a seven yard strike to Kyle Gaffney. Dominique "D-Train" Hayden tacked on a pair of second quarter touchdowns for a 35 - 0 Eagle lead at the half.
LCA and Nicholas traded scores in the third quarter, minus a Blue Jacket extra point, to give the Eagles a 36-point lead. Coach Paul Rains' team scored twice in the game's final period to account for the 62 - 19 final.
Hayden led the LCA ground game with 64 yards to go along with the three scores.
