Saturday's Matchup Big for Both UK and Vandy

No. 24 Kentucky faces Vanderbilt with bowl games in sight

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - For years, Kentucky and Vanderbilt have
tried to climb out of the SEC's Eastern Division basement.
Things are different this year. Tomorrow, Vanderbilt will be
playing for bowl eligibility, while Number-24 Kentucky still has a
chance at the Eastern Division title.
Kentucky is 6-3 overall and 2-3 in the SEC while the Commodores
are 5-4 and 2-4.
The Wildcats surged into the national spotlight this season,
knocking off then-Number-one Louisiana State on their way to being
ranked in the Top 25.
Kentucky quarterback AndrDe Woodson is averaging a league-best
270 yards passing per game and leads a team with a scoring average
of 38 points.
The game is a sellout, with Kentucky likely to have about as
many fans in the stands as Vanderbilt.
