Former head UK football coach John Ray, who headed up the wildcat program from 1969 to 1972, has died.

Ray had a ten and 33 career record while coaching the cats.

He was instrumental in helping the cats move into Commonwealth Stadium even though he had stepped down the season before.

Many who were associated with the team then remember Ray as a very pleasant person.

Coach John Ray was 81.
