Five-Time Kentucky Derby Winning Jockey Is Dead

FREER, Texas (AP) - Hall of Fame jockey Bill Hartack has died at the age of 74. He was on a hunting vacation in Texas when he died last night from natural causes due to heart disease.

Hartack and fellow Hall of Fame rider Eddie Arcaro (ahr-KAR'-oh) are the only jockeys to win the Kentucky Derby five times. Hartack also had three Preakness wins and a Belmont Stakes victory on his Triple Crown resume.
