Aaron Boyd now considering Texas A&M

Texas A&M is now a player in the Aaron Boyd sweepstakes. That’s because new Aggies’ coach Mike Sherman has a relationship with Boyd’s brother, Shane.

Shane Boyd just completed his first season as a backup with the Houston Texans. Sherman was the offensive coordinator with the Texans, before taking over at Texas A&M last week.

“I put a little bug in his ear and coach Sherman saw his highlights and loved him,” Shane said earlier this week.

Aaron Boyd is considered one of the best players in Kentucky. In 2007, Boyd, a wide receiver, caught 55 passes for 1,157 yards and 15 touchdowns at Henry Clay.

Boyd is also a recruiting target for UK. Brother Shane played quarterback for the Wildcats from 2001-04 and has been advising his brother during the recruiting process. Along with Texas A&M and UK, the younger Boyd is thought to be considering Florida, Virginia and Missouri.

“He’s really interested. My brother is surprisingly open. You know, people think I’m trying to push him to my school, Kentucky. But he’s a high recruit and I just want him to go to the best situation,” Shane said.
