Morriss turns down Boyle Co.

Former UK coach Guy Morriss will not be the next head coach at Boyle Co. Athletic director Jim Spears told 27 SportsFirst that the coach informed Boyle Co. administrators Monday afternoon of his decision.

“He said the timing wasn’t right for him to make this decision and this move,” Spears said. “Obviously, we’re sorry for our kids. But we respect his decision.”

Morriss flew into Kentucky last Friday to meet with Boyle Co. officials. Morriss flew back to his home in Waco, Tex. to discuss the offer with his wife, Jackie.

The Morriss’ own a farm in Perryville, in Boyle Co. It is widely known that Morriss will retire to the area once his coaching days are over.

Morriss coached five seasons at Baylor before being fired in November.
