Hood to take over at EKU

Posted: Mon 5:02 PM, Jan 21, 2008

27 SportsFirst has learned that Wake Forest defensive coordinator Dean Hood will be named the new head football coach at Eastern Kentucky during a news conference scheduled for 2 pm tomorrow at the school.

Hood, who has spent the past six seasons in Winston-Salem, is no stranger to EKU football. Hood spent five seasons in Richmond as an assistant to Roy Kidd, from 1993-98.

Hood’s defenses at Wake Forest were known for creating turnovers and scoring touchdowns. Since 2001, the Deacons have forced 120 turnovers and scored 13 defensive touchdowns.

Hood is married to the former Crystal Ramsey of Richmond.
