Aaron Boyd, listed by many recruiting services as Kentucky's top high school football prospect, signed with UK this morning at a ceremony at Henry Clay High School.
Boyd, younger brother of former Wildcat Shane Boyd, made the announcement in front of his Henry Clay teammates and classmates in Al Prewitt Gym.
The 6-foot-6 receiver had narrowed his choices to Kentucky and Oregon earlier this week. Shane Boyd, mother Scherer and other family members, all donned Wildcat baseball caps after Aaron announced he would attend UK.
Boyd was selected a member of the Atlanta Journal Constitution's Super Southern Top 100 and is listed as a 4-star recruit by Rivals.com.
This past season, Boyd had 58 catches for 1,128 yards and 14 touchdowns. He had nine games with 100 yards receiving or more and four games with at least two touchdown catches.
Three other Henry Clay players signed national letters of intent this morning. Dontey Gay, who led the Blue Devils in rushing, signed with Tennessee Tech; lineman Mike Hamm signed with Georgetown College; and wideout/defensive back Brendan Kelly signed with Dayton.
