Dunbar cheerleaders win 5th-consecutive national title

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Paul Laurence Dunbar High in Lexingon, Ky.,
and Bob Jones High in Madison, Ala., were the big winners in 28th
annual Universal Cheerleaders Association National High School
Cheerleading Championship at Walt Disney World.
Paul Laurence Dunbar won the large varsity competition while Bob
Jones High won the super varsity competition.
Westview High from Martin, Tenn., won the medium varsity, while
Kamehameha-Kapalama School in Honolulu won small varsity. The large
varsity coed winner was Sun Prairie (Wis.) High and the small
varsity coed winner was Sparkman High from Harvest, Ala.
Sponsored by Varsity, the UCA high school cheerleading
championship is the largest of its kind in the world, joining more
than 8,000 cheerleaders to compete for the national title.
