BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Brittany Wilson scored 26 points to
lead Louisville DuPont Manual to a 68-34 win over South Laurel
Wednesday afternoon. The Lady Crimsons and Lady Cardinal met in the
opening game of the Kentucky Girls State Basketball Tournament in
Bowling Green.
Manual rolled out to an 18-2 lead in the first quarter and
dominated throughout. Manual led by as many as 35 points in the
fourth quarter before emptying the bench.
Avery Jones added ten points for Manual in the victory.
Lauren Wombles paced South Laurel with 16 points, including
scoring her team's first ten points of the game.
Manual will face the winner of Wednesday's second game between
Region 16 winner Rowan County and Region 14 champion Breathitt
County on Friday at noon central time.
