Mason advances to state finals

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Darius Miller scored 19 points to lead
Mason County to a 60-50 win over Shelby County on Saturday in the
semifinals of the Boys' Sweet Sixteen State Basketball Tournament
at Rupp Arena.

Miller, a 6-foot-7 senior forward, scored 11 of his points in
the second half, including a basket during a late 12-4 run that
sealed the win for the Royals (33-4).

Mason County will play Holmes in the championship game Saturday
night.
Shelby County (25-9) took a 13-8 lead late in the first quarter,
but the Royals scored eight of the next 10 points to pull ahead
16-15 after the first quarter. Mason County led 22-19 at halftime.

Coty Minnis led Shelby County with 14 points.
