Holmes knocks off Catholic, reaches finals

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Elijah Pittman scored 15 points to lead a
balanced attack as Holmes rallied from a 17-point deficit to beat
Lexington Catholic 57-50 Saturday in the semifinals of the Boys'
Sweet Sixteen State Basketball Tournament at Rupp Arena.

Lexington Catholic (32-4) led 19-4 after the first quarter and
expanded its lead to 23-6 before Holmes rallied to pull within
31-25 at halftime.

Holmes (34-2) took its first lead at 39-38 on Pittman's
three-point play with 2:38 left in the third quarter. Later,
Pittman's free throw with 2:07 to play gave the Bulldogs the lead
for good at 49-48.

Holmes will play in Saturday night's championship game against
the winner of the other semifinal between Shelby County and Mason
