Last year, Ellis shot 44 percent from the floor and 85.7 percent at the free throw line. He attended Elgin Larkin High School and competed against current EKU player Mike Rose as a prepster.

Oppong just finished his second year at Panola Junior College in Carthage, Texas. The 6-4 guard from Toronto, Canada, averaged 15.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game this past season for the Ponies. Oppong shot 48.8 percent from the floor and 40.5 percent from behind the arc. As a sophomore, he earned All-Region XIV honors and helped Panola advance to the semifinals of the Region XIV tournament.

Ellis and Oppong join incoming freshmen Cordaro Ellis (6-8 forward from Lynchburg, Va.) and Joshua Jones (6-4 guard from Indianapolis, Ind.) as the 2008-09 men’s basketball recruiting class.
