Jocketty Hoping to Bring Stability

CINCINNATI (AP) - Since 2000, the Cincinnati Reds have had six
managers, four general managers and two owners. That's a lot of
change in a little more than eight years.
Over the span, the Reds have managed only one winning season.
The Reds' impatience has left them lurching from one perceived
quick-fix to another.
But that might change with yesterday's hiring of Walt Jocketty
as GM.
He's accustomed to stability.
Jocketty says he believes in continuity and that it sometimes
takes a little time to get things done. He says the Reds have
several quality people and it's time to find a way to make it all
The 9-and-14 Reds are in last place in the NL Central. It's
their worst start in five years.
