LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - CBS wanted to televise the regular season finale between UK and Florida on Saturday March 9. The only problem: that was the day reserved for the PNC Bank Boys Sweet 16 Semifinals and Finals. UK worked with the Kentucky High School Athletic Association to make this happen, and as a result, the state tournament finals will be played on Sunday for the first time.

Thursday's game times for the semifinals and championship were announced on Thursday. The semifinal round will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, followed by the championship game at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 10.

The remainder of the Boys’ Sweet 16 will follow the same format as previous years. The change in format will not be applied to the Girls Sweet 16, which will take place March 13-16 at E.A. Diddle Arena in Bowling Green.

Official times and pairings will be posted following the Sweet 16 Draw Show on Friday, Jan. 25. You can see it live on the CW Lexington at 1:00pm
