Eastern Kentucky is on the verge of hiring a replacement for outgoing women's basketball coach Larry Joe Inman.
Sources confirmed to 27 SportsFirst on Tuesday that former Colonel Chrissy Roberts is the choice. Inman announced earlier this year he was retiring.
Roberts starterd her playing career at UK, then transferred to EKU, where she was the OVC Player of the Year during her senior season.
She received the Ed Steitz Award for having the top three-point field goal percentage in the nation (.488) and had her uniform, practice gear, and shoes enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.
Roberts has spent the past six seasons as an assistant at Eastern Carolina.
An announcement from EKU could come as soon as next week. Roberts won't officially take over for Inman until July 1.
