LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Bryan Wallace scored 21 points, and Montgomery County defeated John Hardin 66-57 on Friday in the quarterfinals of the Kentucky boys' Sweet 16 state basketball tournament.
Omar Prewitt, a Kentucky Mr. Basketball finalist who scored 29 points in the Indians' first-round win over Warren Central, finished with 11 points and seven rebounds but played majority of the game in foul trouble.
Montgomery County coach Happy Osborne did not once bench Prewitt, who is signed to play in college next season at William and Mary, the entire game.
He was often used as decoy on offense, clearing space for Wallace and Darius Jones, who had 11 points.
John Hardin (29-4) shot 39.3 percent (22 of 56) and led by as many as nine points early in the second quarter.
