Kentucky girls snap losing-streak

The Kentucky girls' all-star team snapped a five-game losing streak to their Indiana counterparts on Friday night. The girls from the Bluegrass State won 76-59.
Brittany Wilson had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Janae Howard scored 11 points as the Kentucky All-Stars girls defeated the Indiana All-Stars tonight 76-to-59.
The win at Conseco Fieldhouse snapped Kentucky's five-game
losing streak against Indiana.
The teams finish their series at 2 p.m. Sunday at Louisville
Gardens, with Kentucky hoping to pull off the team's first sweep of
the Indiana All-Stars since 1991.
Kentucky took command in the first half with its defense,
scoring 18 points off 20 Indiana turnovers en route to a 34-24 lead
at the break.
Kentucky extended the lead to 46-30 on Monique Reid's layup with
14:16 left. Indiana cut the deficit to 56-50 following Maggie
Boyer's three-point play, but Kentucky answered with a 9-0 run to
take a 65-50 advantage with 5 minutes remaining.
Indiana's Alex Guyton finished with 12 points, seven rebounds
and five blocks.
